The Weird Reads Collection

A sky with no stars breeds no heroes.

Fear the sky with BP Gregory's latest science-fiction horror novel, Outermen.

Cathy counts herself lucky to survive day to day in a world where emotion is prescribed, and around the earth is only a shell. No sun. No universe. Nobody to look up in wonder.

Now the void has spat back Michael, first of the heroes who years ago ventured beyond the shell and were lost. Michael is splintered in mind and body and hardly a soul recalls him. Even the bride he so desperately struggled to return to is long dead.

Suddenly Cathy, who would have been his sister-in-law, is noticed and needed. Repulsed as she is it will fall to her to extract from his blasted mind the horrifying secret to Outside. But this is no place for happily ever after.

Why you'll love Outermen

Amazingly-written, weird, claustrophobic, space, alternate Earth, horror story from a brilliant author who consistently nails it!

A tale of the Outside, what's beyond and, ultimately, fear of what may or may not be there. If there is something, stay hidden! If there isn't anything but a vast void, then stay home, be nice, don't explore, we're alone...

A story about society, and more.

Reviews

Wonderfully unsettling. You know a book is great when you stop reading it for a while because you're worried about what is going to happen to a character.

From the blurb I was expecting something original and I definitely wasn't disappointed! Excellent plot, strong characterization and a very thought provoking makes this a memorable story.

The dystopian reality of the novel keeps the reader locked in and the intrigue of what happened on the Capsule only serves to prod the reader on to satisfy a building curiosity.
